STROUDSBURG -- A man in Monroe County was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly assaulting a police officer with a knife.

Police said they were called to David Grayson's home in Stroudsburg around 6:30 p.m because of a domestic argument.

The officer who responded said he saw Grayson, 50, holding two hunting knives.  According to the officer, Grayson refused to put them down when asked.

The officer then tried to shock Grayson with a stun gun but missed.  Investigators said Grayson then threw one of the knives at the officer striking him in his back vest.

The officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Grayson faces a number of charges and is locked up in Monroe County jail.
