Man Wanted for Rape Arrested

A man accused of raping a woman in her home in Jermyn over the weekend has been arrested in Lackawanna County.

Investigators said James Melia of Scranton was at a party with the victim and went with her to her home where they got into an argument. The woman told police Melia raped and sexually assaulted her, then ran from the apartment.

Melia was arrested Wednesday morning and is charged with rape and related crimes. He is in the Lackawanna County jail.
