Family and friends of a 14-year-old teenager who was shot and killed in Wilkes-Barre are saying goodbye.

The funeral for Tyler Winstead started at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Hill Street, not far from where police said Winstead was shot.

Authorities said Winstead was gunned down near his home on Hill Street last Thursday.

Tuesday investigators searched a home on Hill Street where a friend of Tyler’s lives.

Neighbors said they haven’t seen the family in several days, but Luzerne County’s district attorney said authorities have been in contact with them.

She would not say why police raided the home or if the raid had to do with Winstead’s death.

No arrests have been made yet for the shooting in Wilkes-Barre.
