Former Principal Gets Jail Time for Theft

A former Scranton elementary school principal will spend time in jail for theft.

Jeff McCreary was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail, 90 days house arrest and must pay $77,000 restitution.

In December McCreary pleaded guilty to stealing $50,000 from a private bank account founded by principals in the district.

McCreary stepped down as principal of McNichols Plaza Elementary in 2010.
