Creative Service Director
Details:
WNEP-TV, The Tribune Broadcasting & ABC affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton, PA, has an opportunity for the right person to become a part of a dominant news organization.
The primary focus of the Creative Services Director is to manage the Creative Services Department and oversee all news and station promotion. Must be imaginative, creative, and have a strong artistic background. Must recognize the importance of quality, branding and of providing a competitive edge.

Core Job Functions:
• Manages employees in the Creative Services Department. Supervises station artists in the implementation of station’s on-air look.
• Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and After Effects to oversee and be involved in creating promotional and graphic templates.
• Directs placement of station promotional spots, station identification and community service advertising.
• Develops the station advertising plans in consultation with appropriate depart managers and consultants. Design timelines and processes to track progress against goals.
• Works with the ABC network to implement tie-ins with network programming.
• Handles budgeting for Creative Services. Makes capital recommendations for Creative Services hardware and software purchases.
• Writes and produces templates for the station topical ads, image ads, and other programs (syndicated shows and network programs).
• Supervises purchase of outside media for station advertising and supervises the creation of branded campaigns.
• The successful candidate must be a hands on manager; who in addition to meeting deadlines, must also be able to thrive in the fast paced ever-changing environment that exist inside a television station.
• Must be able to work with and in conjunction with all departments within the station.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Station Specific Duties:
• Oversee all station promotions
• Orders station merchandise, signage and apparel and oversees creative process.
• Oversees station contests and checks with attorneys to insure contests are legal.

Experience:
Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Managerial ability needed to oversee and supervise professional staff of writers, producers and artists. This person must be trained and proficient in the use of Final Cut Pro and After Effects. This person must be a good communicator with the ability to manage a departmental budget and influence changes when there is an opportunity to increase revenue or ratings. This person needs to have good organizational skills to develop procedures that can be easily tracked and communicated to all involved.

Requirements:
Education Requirements:
College Degree preferred. A minimum of two to five years of work experience. Management experience preferred. Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office products; and excellent writing skills.

Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity in order to operate the numerous small push buttons and rotary switches on the equipment. Good eyesight and hearing for composition and evaluation of commercial production and programs.

Video Editor/Web Producer
Details:
WNEP-TV, the Tribune Broadcasting & ABC affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA, has an opportunity for the right person to become a part of a dominant news team! Newswatch 16 has an immediate opening for a VIDEO EDITOR/WEB PRODUCER.

We’re looking for a versatile person who can edit news as a show video coordinator, and write and post stories on our website.

Experience:
The right person for this job has good news judgment, excellent web writing and editing skills, can work independently without supervision, understands how to engage others in social media and has a working knowledge of facebook, twitter, and final cut pro.

Requirements:
Preferred qualifications for the job include a 4-year degree in journalism, internet technology or a related field, and at least one year of previous TV newsroom experience. Knowledge of AP writing style/final cut pro editing required.

News Anchor/Reporter

Experience:
We are looking for a leader, a talented news anchor and storyteller. You need to be able to react and ad lib to breaking news and last minute script changes, occasionally report, and produce newscasts. If you want to make a difference and work with state-of-the-art equipment in one of the most talented and dedicated newsrooms in the country, now is your chance!

Requirements:
Our preferred qualifications for the job include a 4-year degree in journalism, and at least four years anchoring and reporting experience. Knowledge of AP writing style required. Knowledge of all social media platforms is a must.
