    Four People Flown for Injuries After Crash in Saint Clair

    SAINT CLAIR — Four people were flown to hospitals after a crash in Schuylkill County Tuesday evening. Witnesses said two cars collided at the intersection of West Hancock and Route 61 in Saint Clair. Several people were hurt including a young boy. Three helicopters carried four victims to hospitals but authorities don’t believe any of the injuries are life-threatening. Police are investigating what caused the crash in Schuylkill County.

    SCRANTON —Police in Scranton said a woman driving a COLTS bus was assaulted by another woman in a road-rage incident Tuesday evening.     HONESDALE —Fire crews in Wayne County were able to keep a kitchen fire from destroying a home. Smoke was coming from the place on East Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.     Soldier from Schuylkill County Killed in Afghanistan

    ORWIGSBURG — Newswatch 16 has confirmed a soldier from Schuylkill County was killed in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense said Capt. Jason  Jones, 29, of Orwigsburg, died Monday of wounds received from a small-arms fire fight in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. Officials said he was deployed in April in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, which was Jones’ second deployment.     Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash near Fairgrounds

    LAMAR TOWNSHIP — State Police spent  hours at the scene of a deadly crash in Clinton County. It happened late Friday afternoon in Lamar Township near Mill Hall on Auction Road. State troopers told Newswatch 16 a motorcycle and another vehicle collided as the other vehicle tried to cross the intersection of State Route 220 near the Clinton County Fairgrounds.     PLAINS TOWNSHIP — One man was sent to the hospital after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree in Luzerne County. Police said it happened in Plains Township on East Main Street just after 5 p.m. on Friday. East Main Street was shut down for several hours while crews cleared up the vehicle. Police have not released the name or condition of the driver after the crash in Luzerne County.

    SCOTT TOWNSHIP — A severely malnourished dog found in Lackawanna County now has authorities looking for it’s owner. The humane officer at Griffin Pond animal shelter said a pit-bull mix was dropped off early Friday morning after Carbondale police found it wandering on North Main Street in the city.
