    DICKSON CITY- Emergency officials say 81 northbound was backed up in the Dickson city area. This backup was caused by a crash that happened Sunday morning around 11 a.m. at mile marker 190. No word if anyone was hurt in the crash. State police said the cars involved in the crash were moved and traffic was flowing again around noon in Lackawanna county.

  • Woman Involved in Shooting Dies

    SIMPSON- A woman died Saturday morning after officials say she was shot in the head. The shooting happened Tuesday night at a home along Jefferson Street in Fell Township. State police say Bruno Rocuba, 47 was holding a gun when it went off. The bullet then went through his hand and hit Melissa Rocuba, 44 in the head.   • Troopers Investigate Deadly Crash in Schuylkill County

    WAYNE TOWNSHIP- State police are investigating a deadly crash that happened near Schuylkill Haven around 9 Friday night. Investigators say the car Daniel Wenrich of Pine Grove was riding in swerved to avoid hitting a deer, and then hit a tree on Long Run Road. The driver of the car was not injured. Police say Wenrich died at the scene. The road was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated the crash.

  • Fire at Chemical Processing Plant in Williamsport

    WILLIAMSPORT — Fire crews are looking for the cause of an early morning fire at a chemical processing plant in the Newberry section of Williamsport. Emergency management officials put out a warning around 6 a.m. Sunday instructing residents near Lonza Inc. to close their windows and doors because of the smoke.   • One Man Dead After Shooting in Wilkes-Barre

    WILKES-BARRE — Sunday morning grief rocked the congregation at the Mount Zion Baptist Church. The 24-year-old man who was fatally shot in a backyard a few blocks away was Vaughn Kemp. Church members said that Kemp and his family had been involved with the church since the victim was a teenager.   • Emergency Crews Search a Lake in Susquehanna County

    LATHROP TOWNSHIP- Dive teams were called out early Saturday morning to search a lake in Susquehanna county. The crews were called out around 1 a.m. to search Lakeside Lake after someone found a car in the water. The dive teams searched the car and found out it was empty. Police are still investigating how that car got into the water near Hop Bottom.  

  • State Police Investigate Deadly Crash in Bradford County

    ALBANY TOWNSHIP- State police in Towanda are investigating a deadly crash. Police say it happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on Overton Road near New Albany. Brandon Edwards of Rome was driving when he lost control, hit a tree and rolled the car. Three passengers riding in the car were ejected. All four people in the car were taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Authorities say Edwards died at the hospital. State police are continuing their investigation in Bradford county.

  • Fire in Monroe County Sends Four to the Hospital

    POCONO TOWNSHIP- A mobile home in Monroe County has been destroyed after an early morning fire. The call went out around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning for the fire on Poe Voll Court near Tannersville. Officials say four people were inside at the time and all four had to be treated for breathing in too much smoke. No firefighters were injured. Investigators are looking for a cause of the mobile home fire.

    PLYMOUTH — A car crashed into a home early Sunday morning in Luzerne county. The car crashed into the house along Main Street in Plymouth around 8:30 a.m. Police say the driver of the car may have had a medical condition that caused them to lose control of the car and hit the home.   • Fire Wrecks a Home in Scranton

    SCRANTON- An early morning fire wrecked a home in Scranton. The first alarm on Fourth Avenue came in around 2 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they called in a second alarm. Officials told people living in nearby homes to leave as a precaution. There is no cause yet for the fire in Scranton, a fire inspector has been called in to investigate.

    TOWANDA — Police in Bradford County are searching for a man they say assaulted another man Friday night in Towanda. Police are looking for Blake Dieffenbach, 25, of Troy. He is described as being 5’10” with short brown or black hair. He may be driving a beige Dodge Caliber with PA registration HNC-1016.
