HUNLOCK CREEK, Pa. — Fire crews responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire at a home in Luzerne County.
Heavy flames and smoke could be seen pouring from the building near Hunlock Creek.
Crews were called to the home around noon.
A neighbor tells Newswatch 16 he saw the smoke and called 911. The neighbor said the owners were not home at the time, but friends were staying in an RV on the property and were able to save two dogs.
A big challenge for fire crews was getting water to the fire. Neighbors say the first responding companies ran out of water in minutes and had to wait for more companies to respond.
At one point, the fire spread from the home and led to a brush fire that crews were tackling at the same time.
There is no word on what started the fire.
