POLK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Flames wrecked a garage in Monroe County.
It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday on Route 209 near Gilbert.
Crews say a lawnmower and a vehicle were in the barn at the time of the fire.
The garage owner said someone passing by alerted him to the danger.
"He started pounding on the door, told me to get out of the house, get people out of the house. My garage was on fire," said Julio Cresco of Polk Township. "I'm a painter. I'm a painting contractor, so all my equipment was in there, my zero turn mower. Thank God it's all replaceable things."
No one was hurt. Two firefighters had to be checked out.
There is no word on a cause.
