‘Suspicious’ Fire Forces Scranton Family Out of Home

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Four people managed to escape flames at a home in Scranton.

The fire broke out just before 8:30 at the home in the 1600 block of Pittston Avenue.

People who live there say the blaze started in on the desk outside and spread.

Investigators said the fire is considered suspicious and may be related to several other small arsons in the neighborhood since Sunday.

The Red Cross is assisting the family and they are staying with other family members after the fire in Lackawanna County.
