PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles will play in their first Super Bowl in 13 years after defeating the Minnesota Vikings 38-7 in the NFC Championship Game.

The Eagles will play the defending champion New England Patriots, who earlier defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship.

Just about everyone counted the Eagles out when quarterback Carson Wentz went down. They were even home underdogs twice as the #1 seed in the NFC, including in this NFC title game against Minnesota.

The Vikings were coming off that miracle win over the Saints. Both teams thought this is the year they win their first Super Bowl. The Vikings were trying to become the first team ever to host the championship game.

But to do so, they’d need to be the first “dome” team ever to win a conference championship outdoors. It would not happen.

In a battle between two dominant defenses, only one looked dominant. A pick six tied the game early. Philly won the turnover battle 3-0.

And the day after his 29th birthday, Nick Foles played the game of his life. He went 26-for-33 for 352 yards and three scores, two of them to Alshon Jeffery, earning a quarterback rating of 141.4.

This was a blowout. The Eagles won 38-7.

Philly is looking for its first NFL championship since 1960.

The last time the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl was in 2005. Coincidentally, it was against New England. The Patriots won that game 24-21.

Super Bowl LII is February 4.
