Looking Back at the Floods of 1996

On this day 22 years ago, we saw a record snowfall in northeastern and central Pennsylvania: more than 15 inches.

Then five days, later another seven inches of snow fell. Then temperatures rose to the 60s and record rains fell.

The quick melt plus the heavy rains led to devastating flooding.
