New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Carriage Rides Canceled in Scranton

SCRANTON -- Lackawanna County Commissioners announced a New Year’s Eve Spectacular earlier this month.

Now officials say they’ve cancelled the fireworks display set for midnight due to the frigid forecast.

Carriage rides have also been canceled because of the freezing temperatures.

All other activities will take place inside the Ritz Theatre on Wyoming Avenue in Scranton starting at 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
