Charlie Rose was suspended by CBS on Monday after eight women accused him of sexual harassment, with allegations including groping, unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate phone calls.

The Washington Post broke the news on Rose, a co-host on “CBS This Morning,” “60 Minutes” correspondent and the star of an eponymous PBS interview program. It published claims from the women — three of whom went on the record — in a story that became the latest to allege that a member of the media’s power class demonstrated inappropriate behavior.

“Charlie Rose is suspended immediately while we look into this matter,” a CBS News spokesperson said.

Additionally, PBS announced that it has suspended the distribution of Rose’s show, saying it was “shocked to learn today of these deeply disturbing allegations. Bloomberg, which also airs Rose’s interview show, said it too would stop airing it.

In a statement to The Post, Rose said: “In my 45 years in journalism, I have prided myself on being an advocate for the careers of the women with whom I have worked. Nevertheless, in the past few days, claims have been made about my behavior toward some former female colleagues.

“It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken.

“I have learned a great deal as a result of these events, and I hope others will too. All of us, including me, are coming to a newer and deeper recognition of the pain caused by conduct in the past, and have come to a profound new respect for women and their lives.”

Unlike former VP creepy Joe Biden at least Rose waited till the graduated HS.
Maybe not, after all no one reported what Biden did to girls all these years….

Someone else people are trying to ruin, before any FACTS are known. In many of these cases, if the women were so offended or felt abused; why are they waiting 20+ years to say something? Of course, doesn’t matter if they do or do not have proof in the eye’s of the public. For those that were truly abused or otherwise assaulted I am truly sorry as it should never happen and there is no reasonable excuse for it. But don’t wait 20 or more years if that is the case to say something to someone.

This guy must have went to PSU after graduating from one of those pervy towns in Schuylkill County. Heavy molester area

  • Really?

So we are sure that not one woman on this Earth lies? We believe all of them no matter what they say? If this is true and I can get some free easy money or 15 minutes of fame, WHY NOT?

The new lib way – even though they’re perverts, they apologize and ask for foregiveness, all while shedding crocodile tears.
Somehow in their defective minds this makes it all well. Lol!

You people are idiots. It’s only the left or libs or Democrats. Republicans just sexually harras then pay 30 plus million to the accusers (Bill Orielly). Who pays 30 million if it was false and just how bad was it that it cost him 30 million. Or they just grab vaginas and then insult the women and call them ugly (Trump). At least the Republicans have gotten away from the little boys. You people are discusting that you would turn it into a partisan issue and still stick by these scumbags because they have the magic R next to their name. Even though Trump at one point did run as a Democrat. Party before country, God and now decency.

O’Reilly only fools moderate Republicans and Democrats, he’s not a true conservative, so he’s not a great example. Same with the Bushes. Yes, both the GOP and the Dems have skeletons in the closets, the liberals (in BOTH parties) are just mad that we’re not buying the “month before the election” accusations any more. By “we” I mean the voters actually desiring real change.

You got real change alright. An orange, greedy, lecherous liar who will fleece the dopes who voted for him.

You seem to have made it a partisan issue by pointing your finger at Republicans, when you know full well it has nothing to do with what side you’re registered on!

Charlie interviews himself………..”How do you feel now? what makes you do these sick things? how do you recover from this? what do you do next? are you part of that “war on women” or was that a bunch of garbage now that all you and a pile of liberal men are caught and accused abusing women? how do you hike around naked and grope women and think you aren’t going to get caught? are you going to seek help and will you go away now? “

    From Wikipedia:

Shakespeare’s phrase, “hoist with his own petard,” is an idiom that means “to be harmed by one’s own plan to harm someone else” or “to fall into one’s own trap”, implying that one could be lifted (blown) upward by one’s own bomb, or in other words, be foiled by one’s own plan.

Another self important liberal bites the dust.

So much for the sanctity any media image, when one falls, they’re all tainted.

This whole touch and tell crap is becoming pathetic. 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 40 friggen years ago? Yea right! Whatever. Notice however so far only two guys seems dumb enough to have left evidence, and its a democratic senator, and a president? Now that’s funny! Oh, don’t ever vote for me, I touched a girl without asking over 56 years ago! I lip locked that nipple and commenced to bitten! Course I didn’t have teeth at the time.

This is all getting really, really silly. I’m not talking about Charlie Rose specifically, I’m talking about this whole recent phenomenon, Democrat or Republican.
      – Are some of the accusations serious in nature? Absolutely.
      – Is any of it appropriate based on what would be considered the socially accepted norms of 2017? Nope.
      – But petty stuff that happened 30-40 years ago??? Come on…. Everyone did stuff decades ago that they probably regret. Touching a woman’s butt without her permission 30 years ago probably wouldn’t crack the top 10 on most people’s list.

There’s a smiling Trump meme going around. Above his smiling face, “Karma?” below it: “She works for me!”
