POCONO RACEWAY -- One by one, hundreds of RVs and campers piled into the check in station just outside Pocono Raceway near Long Pond.

The Monster Energy Series NASCAR Overtons 400 race takes place on Sunday.

Fans are thrilled another race weekend is finally here.

"We've been coming about 7 or 8 years. We get away for the weekend and have a good time," said Bill Hart, Lewistown.

Plenty of fans went through check in early.

Angie Doran from Berwick has been coming to the track for years. She says it's a nice getaway and not too far from home.

"Oh, it's great. It's like a home away from home. We meet people here and we usually see them every year and it's just great," said Angie Doran, Berwick.

The Sperry family from New Jersey brought their little one along for race weekend.

They say the track is a nice place for families with something fun for everyone.

"It's a family weekend. They really love doing it so I come and hang out for the weekend," said Tiffany Sperry, New Jersey.

While a majority of the fans we spoke to say they come to every race, a lot of them said they were not missing this weekends. It's Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s last race here at Pocono before he retires.

Fans of number 88 say they are sad to see him go but are happy to see Junior go around the "Tricky Triangle" one last time.

"We were here for both races when he won, when we swept the Poconos, and it would have been great for this year but if he does it this weekend, that is great," said Doran.

"It stinks. I gotta figure out who I am going to root for next year we are not sure so I am going to have to come up with a new guy," said John Sperry, New Jersey.

"He will be back. He will be back. I think he will race some whether he comes up here or not but he will be involved," said Hart.

The race begins on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pocono Raceway near Long Pond.
