BRIAR CREEK -- Flames gutted an apartment building in Columbia County.
Flames broke out around 11 a.m. Sunday on Columbia Boulevard in Briar Creek.
The fire chief told Newswatch 16 everyone inside got out safely.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion.
There is no word on how many people are displaced by the fire.
Earlier this month, a man was shot in the same building after an argument. Authorities said his injuries were not life-threatening.
A state police fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of Sunday's fire in Columbia County.
