State Police Respond to Reported Standoff in Wayne County

MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP -- State police responded to a reported standoff in northern Wayne County Monday evening, according to authorities.

Troopers were called to a home off Route 247 near Pleasant Mount.

Employees at a nearby restaurant said they counted more than 20 state police cruisers and unmarked vehicles as well as a SWAT van.

State police said the incident is contained and there is no danger to the public.

The incident ended around 9:30 p.m.

State police have not released any other details at this time.
