SCRANTON -- A man struck by a hit and run driver is expected to be OK and police are now trying to track down the driver.

A business near where the man was hit on Green Ridge Street in Scranton captured the car on security camera video.

The cameras captured the hit and run car, a maroon sedan, just after it clipped the victim -- Peter Mataloni of Dunmore who happens to be Newswatch 16's Carmella Mataloni's father.

Police say Mataloni walked across Green Ridge street to his car around 1 a. m. When he got to the door of his car, he was hit. The driver does not appear to slow down as it heads toward North Main Avenue.

Mataloni suffered a broken leg and has been released from the hospital. He's expected to be OK.

Police say the car's passenger side-view mirror came off during the collision. They are hoping that piece of evidence helps lead them to the car or that someone seeing the video will recognize it.

Anyone with information about the hit and run driver is asked to call Scranton police.
