LUZERNE COUNTY --Plenty of people will be waking up to a winter wonderland Friday morning.

But how will it affect your morning commute?

Newswatch 16's Clay Lepard was in Luzerne County throughout the morning with the latest on the weather condition.

For much of the morning, PennDOT crews were out on patrol waiting for the snow to finally stick to the roads.

For a while, it looked like the snow was only sticking to cold spots, but then it started sticking to the roads and that's where things got tricky for drivers.

all out

It went from shiny to slushy along I-81 north in Luzerne County where you'd see cars disappearing in the snowfall.

"I just got off work," Said ken Lauderback of Mountain Top. "It wasn't fun. It's cold, it's snowing again. What, last week it was 70!"

"The springtime weather was great. My dogs loved it and they would go out and now I have to fight with them to get out the door," said Stephanie Irace of Pittston.

But with the way the weather has gone in the last month, some aren't surprised by this March snowfall.

"I thought we'd get maybe one doozy even for February! Is this the doozy? I don't know," said Thomas Roman of Mountain Top.

Not only did the snow cause school closings and delays, but it also caused some delays and cancellations for flights into the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.  Head here for Newswatch's Flight Tracker.
