TAYLOR -- A standoff at a shopping center in Taylor has come to an end. It ended with a flash grenade being shot into the truck in a parking lot in Taylor just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The situation started around 1 a.m. Wednesday on West Grove Street in Taylor where police found a woman bleeding from the mouth. She told police her husband Adrien Ace drove away in the cab of a big rig.

According to Taylor police, officers later spotted the truck and say the driver refused to stop. He pulled into the parking lot of the Taylor Commons and tried to drive into a police cruiser with his rig.

Police say they flattened his tires and called in the SWAT team.

The Walmart was put on lockdown and about 15 people were forced to stay inside.

Police say the truck driver refused to surrender saying he would not be taken alive.

After more than three hours, police sources tell us officers ended the standoff by using tear gas and made an arrest.

Officers say the man responsible is Adrien Ace, 48, of Taylor.

Ace is charged with seven criminal charges involving the confrontation with police and domestic violence charges against his wife.
