SCRANTON -- People came out to get a holiday hairdo to help others in the Electric City.

In its 27th year, the Women's Resource Center held its annual Santa Snippers Cut-A-Thon at Now Hair Salon on Adams Avenue in Scranton.

The haircuts were $15, and the money raised goes to help the women and children at the center.

"I think it's very generous of the stylists to come in here today, offering their time, donating their time. I think that's also a wonderful cause and a great example for the holidays," said Mary Lou Chibirka of Dalton.

Last year, the Santa Snippers Cut-A-Thon raised over $10,000.
