Bethlehem In The Back Mountain

A timeless tradition that tells the story of Christmas takes place this weekend in Luzerne County. Back Mountain Harvest Assembly near Shavertown will host its 23rd annual free musical drama called "The Gift." Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey went behind the scenes of the big outdoor show Thursday on Newswatch 16 This Morning.

Organizers of the event say "this will be the last opportunity to see 'The Gift' until 2018. This Spring, the church plans to break ground to build a new house of worship where the outdoor musical is currently held. Construction on the project will also include building an amphitheater next to the church which will be the new and improved home to 'The Gift.' It'll also provide an outlet for other outdoor events throughout the year such as a summer concert festival. "
