JERMYN -- With the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor coming this Wednesday, people at one church in Lackawanna County remembered those who were killed.
St Michael's Russian Orthodox Church in Jermyn held a special ceremony on Sunday for the five men and women from the community who survived the attack on December 7, 1941.
"When we commemorate Pearl Harbor, it unites our country. I want us to unite our Jermyn Borough, unite our state, and unite our nation, and if we all do our part, we can do this," said Father John Kowalcyzk.
The mayor of Jermyn along with state Senator John Blake were among those in attendance.
