WILKES-BARRE -- It appears Santa ditched his reindeer and opted for a hog this year.

Jolly old St. Nick pulled into the parking lot at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre on Church Street on a motorcycle on Saturday.

Biker Santa came bearing gifts for about 100 kids who attended the event.

The early Christmas presents were donated by Geisinger employees and members of a motorcycle club called Northeast Federation of Clubs.

"Geisinger really is a community organization, and we really want to have an impact on the community, not just serving them in health, but really being part of the community. This allows us to do that," said Suzanne Diana, one of the organizers.

There was live music, crafts, and face painting for the children to enjoy before Santa hit the open road again.

The free community event was sponsored by the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Auxiliary.
