DUNMORE -- Firefighters in Lackawanna County credit a sprinkler system for helping to knock down flames fast at a plant in Dunmore Friday morning.

Part of United Gilsonite Laboratories along the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue filled with smoke just before 6:30 a.m.

The business makes and sells paint and home maintenance products such as items to waterproof basements.

Crews tell us the plant wasn’t open but somehow a pallet of garbage caught fire in the back of this warehouse.

A fire inspector is still investigating.

I have lived in NEPA for 61 years and don’t know what a “flaming bag of dog poo” smells like. Perhaps you should try moving upwind from your usual self and breathe deeply, just sayin !
