ARCHBALD -- Eight-year-old Kevin O'Shey from Archbald could be doing many things on Thanksgiving Day.

Eating turkey, playing football with friends, but Kevin chose to give back to his community instead.

"I am doing Thanksgiving. Helping people who don't have food. We go to other houses and we say Happy Thanksgiving and we give them cranberry and turkey and stuff. It's very nice and refreshing," said Kevin O'Shey, Archbald.

Owners and volunteers here at Barrett's Pub in Archbald have been cooking up a Thanksgiving food storm.

Turkey, stuffing and all the fixings for the perfect holiday feast, and it's all free!

It's all thanks to the Eynon and Archbald Lions Club.

Willard Snook took a delivery to his neighbor.

"They are good, and I come and pick up dinners for them. They are very generous," said Willard Snook, Archbald.

People assembling the food told Newswatch 16, it's a humbling experience, making dinner for neighbors who may not be able to get one.

Nearly 150 people signed up for a turkey dinner.

Karen Rapoch is a member of the Eynon and Archbald Lions Club.

Rapoch has been helping out with this drive for the last nine years.

"We know that there are people out there who are lonely or by themselves and they like the knock on the door and the free hot meal," said Rapoch.

Shirley Barrett owns the pub.  She's happy to open up her kitchen to the community for the holidays.

"It's very important because we can cook for ourselves and one day we might be at that age when we are going to be looking for the dinners," said Barrett.

Holiday celebrations for Eynon and Archbald Lions Club will continue into the weekend.

A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled on Saturday at 4PM, in the borough.
