CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP -- Flames tore through four townhomes in Monroe County Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to the Country Glen Townhouse Development in Chestnuthill Township near Effort around 1:15 p.m.

The fire chief said the fire started at one of the homes on Country Acres Court. Four homes were damaged. Everyone either got out safely or was not home at the time.

No one was hurt.

The two middle homes have the most damage. The chief believes a garbage can is to blame, but how the fire started has yet to be determined.

The chief said the fire does not look to be suspicious.
