WILLIAMSPORT -- This weekend, thousands of people are expected to show up for an annual holiday tradition in Lycoming County. The annual toy train expo is chugging into Billtown.

It's going to take a few hours to unload all the boxes, so it's a good thing Bill Lantz of Shippensburg has some help. Every year for over 20 years, Bill has brought his model train set to the William Huffman Toy Train Expo inside Park Place in Williamsport.

It's become something of a tradition. Bill's sons now come home to be a part of it.

"We enjoy helping him every year. It's fun to put the trains out and to see the people come in from the community," said Bill Lantz.

"The land of wide eyes and half-opened mouths of children, because they just look at this, they have never seen so many trains," said coordinator Bruce Huffman.

Huffman's dad William Huffman started the expo with one train under a tree 26 years ago.

This weekend, about 20 toy train collectors will show off their displays.

"Of course, I had always come to this every year from the beginning and that, but to really to see the kids and see the people enjoy it, there's nothing else like this," said Huffman.

This year you can see even more trains right down the road at the Taber Museum where the expo has set up an overflow room.

Larry Keller is setting up his trains inside the Taber Museum this weekend. He also plans to check out the other collectors' trains.

"I guess I'm just amazed at how many different ideas how many other people have," Keller said.

The toy train expo runs Saturday and Sunday at Park Place in Williamsport.
