Teachers in Dallas School District Set to Strike

DALLAS TOWNSHIP --  Teachers in one district in Luzerne County plan to hit the picket line on Monday, meaning no school for students.

Teachers in the Dallas School District say they've been working without a contract for 15 months and they plan to go on strike starting Monday. According to representatives for the teachers union, teachers expect the strike to continue on Tuesday as well.

At this point, there's no indication from the district as to when potential negotiations could lead to a new contract, so there's no telling how long the strike may last.

These teachers that are on strike especially in the Dallas School District should be happy they have a job I think this is the most ridiculous thing that anyone can do to our children. All they are showing is when they don’t get what they want this is how you act. Shame on you Dallas teachers. Shame on you!!!!

Dallas Resident, did you ever think to put yourself in the teacher’s shoes? They have been out of a contract for over a year. I doubt that you would appreciate freezes and no resolution from your employer. Shame on you for not seeing the big picture. Shame on you for putting the blame on them. You should be thanking them for being such mentors to your children. Perhaps you should read over your post after understanding the underlying issues and the history of actions that have taken place. Actions speak louder than words. Especially yours.
