MONTOURSVILLE — Residents in Lycoming and Centre Counties affected by flash flooding will be able to get free tetanus shots.
Flash flooding damaged roads and homes earlier in the month, sweeping garbage and debris along in the rushing water.
Tetanus is contracted when a wound comes in contact with contaminated soil or debris.
Free tetanus shots provided by the state health department will be available for people from Lycoming County who may have come into contact with flood debris on Tuesday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ralston Volunteer Fire Company in Ralston and on Thursday, November 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lycoming County Department of Public Safety in Montoursville.
Centre County tetanus shots will be provided on Thursday, November 3, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Freedom Life Church in Bellefonte.
Shots were made available last week for Sullivan County residents.
