SCRANTON -- Crews were called to a fire early Tuesday morning in Scranton.

Authorities haven't said why the two-story building on 12th Avenue caught fire around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the fire chief, 10 people lived there and everyone got out safely.

However, one family's apartment is gutted.

Justin Thompson said, “Truth be told, it doesn't matter who's there to help you. I just lost everything I own. Nevermind me, but my kids they just lost everything.”

The fire chief said the cause is undetermined because of all the damage but it is not considered suspicious.
