LEWISBURG---A former Lewisburg Area High School music teacher and band director is facing charges he took ‘upskirt’ videos of female students in 2015 and 2016.

For about 15 years, Justin Hill was a teacher in Lewisburg.

"Seemed like a normal guy, you wouldn't have known. Just kind of shocking,” said Steven Stiner, who is a junior at the high school.

Police say Hill's wife, who was an elementary school teacher in the district, found the videos on his cell phone and threatened to go to police if he didn't turn himself in.

School officials say Hill did admit to taking about 15 videos last school year.

He resigned in June.

"We are extremely disturbed by the allegation. This is not who we are as a district, this is not reflective of our staff as a district,” said Lewisburg Area Superintendent Mark DiRocco.

Lewisburg Area School officials held a special meeting Monday night for parents to ask questions and they said counselors will be available for students at school.

Several parents told Newswatch 16 they thought very highly of Justin Hill.

“He worked hard for our students and there were a lot of differences and some parents were frustrated with things that happened here and there as far as his expectations of the students, but he really wanted to create a fantastic music program here,” said Brandy Hoffman-Aho, a parent in the district.

"It concerns me but it doesn’t scare me because I think the school district will do the best for everyone including the students,” said parent Rosemary Benfer.

Police said Hill deleted all the videos from his phone.

There are no known victims and no indication Hill ever shared any videos.
