VALLEY TOWNSHIP -- The attorney general says he is suing a now-closed furniture store in the Danville area.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Bruce Beemer announced Wednesday that his office has filed a civil lawsuit against Rudy’s Mart.

Rudy's Mart is accused of accepting payments from customers for furniture that was never delivered.

The store closed in the summer without notice or explanation to its customers.

The lawsuit seeks restitution for consumers, as well as $1,000 for every violation of the Consumer Protection Law, and $3,000 for every violation involving a customer 60 years old or older.

Any customers who think they were victimized by Rudy’s Mart can contact the Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection at www.attorneygeneral.gov, or by calling 800-441-2555 or emailing consumers@attorneygeneral.gov.
