EAST STROUDSBURG UNIVERSITY -- Time to reach an agreement is running out.

Some students were just getting out of class Tuesday night, others finishing another night of studying at the library at East Stroudsburg University, but all seemed to be on edge with the impending statewide faculty strike.

The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) is sticking to their deadline with the following post from their Facebook:

"It is nerve wracking, like you don't even know what's going to happen especially for commuters. They cant-they don't know what's going to happen," said East Stroudsburg University junior, Maria Perry.

More than 100,000 students across 14 universities including schools like East Stroudsburg would be effected by the strike.

Negotiations between Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education and the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties is still continuing.

The university and faculty aren't speaking to the media and for some students that is making it even worse.

"I'm worried on how its going to effect me. I just got here, I have four more years and I'm like, why? Whats going to happen?" asked Lance Peters, freshman.

The uncertainty of whether the strike will happen is a heavy burden on students who aren't sure if they prepare for upcoming tests and quizzes

"If it happens, I've been hearing its only going to be a couple of days- so it should be okay because I have a few test tomorrow. So if they get canceled and we have to retake them on Friday. I'm trying to go home for the weekend," added freshman, Tyler Rose.

The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties has been updating the public Tuesday night through their facebook and twitter.

President of APSCUF, Ken Marsh also went on Facebook Live to speak about negotiations.
