POCONO TOWNSHIP -- Some golfers in the Poconos are still in the full swing of golf season. Looking around, you'd think it was a hot July day, not mid-October.

"Oh, it's gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. Great day," said Richard Luthcke of Pocono Summit.

"We call it a bonus day, us golfers. So we are just enjoying the nice day, a little breezy but beautiful," said George Guzik of Dunmore.

The group of golfers decided to spend the day at the Inn at Pocono Manor Golf Course near Mount Pocono.

Robert Yevitz lives at Pocono Manor. He tells Newswatch 16 he never knows when the ground will go from green to white, so he comes here whenever he can.

"This time of year it could be snowing out, but this is a great day," said Yevitz.

While golfers like to get out on the course all the time, during the fall is especially nice because of all the colors and the great scenery.

"We don't expect it to be quite as mild as last winter, so we are enjoying this at this point and the colors in the Poconos are great," said Ron Yevitz of South Abington Township.

Ron Yevitz came to visit his brother and spend the day playing 18 holes. He hopes the weather stays like this through next month when the courses will probably close for the winter.

"A lot of time you get to play until November and it's still not that cold, so it's great. It's really great to be out here," said Ron Yevitz.

"Last year, I played up until the Sunday before Thanksgiving here and then that's when it closed, and they close it no matter what, but it would be nice if I could do the same thing this year," said Robert Yevitz.
