Police Investigate Bicyclist hit By Car

SCRANTON -- Police blocked off a Scranton street after a car hit a man on a bicycle.

According to authorities, the car struck the man on the bike around 6 p.m. on Friday on Prospect Avenue at Moosic Street.

Neighbors say the car that hit the man stopped immediately after the collision. The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

Police are trying to recreate the crash. Authorities have a portion of Moosic Street and Prospect Avenue blocked off.

Penndot says the Scranton Central Expressway, which was scheduled to close at 7 p.m. will remain open until the investigation is complete.
