EAST NORWEGIAN TOWNSHIP -- Looking for a sweet ride that can take you back in time? The Schuylkill Transportation System has something unique on its lot near Saint Clair.

The agency is looking to sell around 20 vehicles it no longer needs to the highest bidders, and one of the bunch stands out --the Miss Dolly trolley.

"It's in perfect shape, it's only got a little over 30,000 miles on it, it's in running condition, and it would be great for someone who can utilize it," David Bekicz, Schuylkill Transportation System.

The Miss Dolly was purchased in 2007, and named for a beloved driver, the late Dorothy Kuehn, who worked her way up to operations manager.

"Everybody knew her very well, and she was out on the roads very often taking care of people."

At first, the system rented out the trolley for special events such as weddings, but a change in federal laws put an end to the rentals. After that, Miss Dolly didn't get much use.

Money from the sale will pay for new vans to help people in Schuylkill County get around.

Even after the Miss Dolly trolley is sold, she won't be forgotten. A plaque will be put up in her honor at Union Station in Pottsville.

Bekicz hopes this old friend gets a new home.

"I'd like to see it stay in Schuylkill County and hopefully that can happen."
