FRACKVILLE -- A man from Schuylkill County will spend five to 10 years in prison for the death of a 1-year-old girl.
Joseph Brennan of Ashland pleaded no contest last week to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Prosecutors said he was watching his girlfriend's three children in 2014 when he caused the girl to have a fatal head injury.
State police said he changed his story several times about how the girl was hurt. First Brennan said she fell off the couch, then he said she fell off the counter, and then he said her 5-year-old brother hit her.
A no contest plea means he doesn't admit guilt but is sentenced as if he did.
