HAZLETON -- Long overdue medals were awarded to two veterans from Luzerne County.
A ceremony was held at Congressman Lou Barletta's office in Hazleton on Wednesday.
William Monk Jr. of Drums received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Honorable Discharge Button for his service aboard the USS Ethan Allen in the ‘60s.
Several medals were also given to the family of Leo Boris of Hazleton.
Boris, who passed away, received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and more than a dozen other medals and bars for his service with the US Army during World War II.
