Carbon County Man Sentenced for Bank Robberies

JIM THORPE -- A man from Carbon County who pleaded guilty to holding up four banks and a Dollar General will spend more than 10 years in prison.

David Weaver, 42, of Junedale was sentenced on Wednesday for the robberies in 2013 and 2014.

Two of those heists happened in Penn Forest Township at Jim Thorpe National Bank and Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank.

He also robbed the National Penn Bank in Drums, ESSA Bank and Trust in Brodheadsville, and Dollar General in Nesquehoning.
