SCRANTON -- Police charged the manager of a convenience store in Scranton with stealing tens of thousands of dollars in of lottery tickets.
Investigators say Jason Turner of Taylor took $42,000 in lottery tickets from May through July. He's also accused of stealing nearly $3,000 in cash.
Turner was the manager of the G&G Express Mart on South Main Avenue. He admits to police he's responsible for the thefts and says it was to fuel his gambling addiction.
G&G Express Mart officials discovered the theft in September.
Turner told his bosses that he would pay them back so he didn't have to go to jail, but his $45,000 check bounced and the store's owner went to the police. Last week, Turned admitted to cops he did it.
