31-year-old professional boxer Stephon Burgette from Dunmore trains inside the Weston Field-house gym. Saturday October 8th is Fall Brawl 2016 at Montage Mountain and marks Burgette's 9th pro fight since 2011.

"I love the sport. Just the fact that knowing that someone is working just has hard as me if not harder we're going to meet in the ring and have a war," said Stephon.

Burgette trains 4 times a week. It's a grueling workout on the pads and hitting the bag, but for the former Scranton Knight and Wilkes Colonel football player hard work has always been the key to success.

"Sheptock and Marichak are both hard nose players. Marichak a no non-sense guy especially Sheptock they both taught me valuable life lessons as a man and as an athlete," again said Stephon.

This could be Stephon's last pro fight that is certainly a possibility and it's based on a couple of factors along with his wife Ashley they are raising their 4 month old baby boy Stefano and Stephon has a full-time job as a Dunmore police officer.

"I love my career. Like I said I could have easily made boxing a career, but I chose to pursue an act 120 degree and pursue a degree in law enforcement. I wanted to work for the Dunmore police department. I live in Dunmore and my wife teaches in Dunmore. We are going to be Dunmore natives for a while. You don't have to be a great fighter to be a good police officer, but I do believe that you have to be in great condition and you have to know how to defend yourself and those things play a significant role in my career," added Stephon.

Burgette is looking for his 6th pro win.

"You will have you're times when you feel like jeez I'm out here working like this and everybody else gets to have fun, but it's all for a good cause I get to get into the ring and show all the hard work that I've done and be able to put on an exciting fight for my fans," again said Stephon.
