SCRANTON -- A brand new cancer center is ready to serve the Scranton area.
Geisinger-Community Medical Center showed off its new facility Tuesday afternoon.
The suite at the hospital on Mulberry Street in Scranton includes exam rooms, a pharmacy, and rooms for outpatient treatment.
"We bring all services together here, so she's seen by surgery, nurse navigator, medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, and that's after we all have the opportunity to work with our colleagues in pathology and radiology to review all of the information about that person's case," oncologist Dr. Chris Adonizio said.
Geisinger-CMC's new cancer center opens to patients next Monday.
