TOWANDA -- Some gas lease owners headed to Harrisburg Tuesday morning to support a new bill that would help them keep more of their natural gas royalties.
Dozens of people boarded four buses early Tuesday morning in Towanda.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives is set to vote on a bill which would guarantee a minimum royalty payment on leases signed with natural gas companies.
Some lease holders with Chesapeake Energy say the company is charging post-production fees that are severely gouging, and in some cases, eliminating, their royalty payments.
"Those pumps are running 24/7. It never stops. And the end of the month comes along and there's no check coming," complained landowner Joe Moore.
