SAYLORSBURG -- A man charged in a deadly crash has taken his own life, according to the Monroe County coroner.
Robert Givey committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning at his home in Saylorsburg on September 17.
Givey was charged in August for a crash in March of 2015 that killed Richard Kline, 27, of Saylorsburg.
Police say Givey was driving a Jeep Cherokee into the intersection of Route 115 and Allegheny Drive in Blakeslee when he lost control of the vehicle and slid on the snow-covered road into the path of a PennDOT truck. The PennDOT truck attempted to avoid Givey and hit a car driven by Kline, who died as a result of the crash.
