BLOOMSBURG -- Faculty at Bloomsburg University who have given notice they will strike are getting support from some students.
There was a sit-in Monday morning by students on Bloomsburg’s campus in Columbia County.
Students are protesting the proposed contract by the state system of higher education.
The union representing faculty and coaches at all 14 state-owned universities said they will strike next month if there is no deal.
"While we support our teachers and we love them for what they do, and we love our university, we feel like we would love to have a resolution to the conflict without a strike," said Emily Maglia, Bloomsburg University junior.
"The main reason we're doing this is because we want people to understand that it’s not just affecting the professors or the faculty, it affects the students as well," said Trevor Resue, Bloomsburg University sophomore.
The students said they will do these sit-ins every Monday until there's contract negotiated or a strike.
