Juvenile Threatens Hazleton Family and Assaults Police Officers

HAZLETON — The Hazleton Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance involving a rifle on South Laurel Street around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Police officers say a 16 year-old male was destroying the inside of the house and threatening the family that lived there.

During the investigation, the juvenile assaulted officers, threatened to shoot police, and resisted arrest.

Hazleton police uncovered a semi-automatic rifle upon investigation.

Officers charged the juvenile with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, terroristic threats, simple assault, and resisting arrest.

The 16 year-old was placed in a juvenile holding facility.
