STROUDSBURG  -- A man from the Poconos was sentenced in Monroe County Tuesday but neither he nor his defense team showed up in court.

Kirk Randler from Long Pond is accused of killing a woman in a crash in 2014.

Randler was found guilty back in March and has since been wanted by police.

A Monroe County judge sentenced Randler to 11 and 1/2 to 23 years in prison.

But Randler was not even in the courtroom to hear his sentencing. He's been on the police wanted list since earlier this year.

Randler was out on bail, showed up for jury selection, but then skipped out for the rest of his trial.

That trial continued without him and Randler was found guilty in March of homicide by vehicle.

Katrina Strausser, 42, from Long Pond, was killed and several others, including Strausser's sons, were injured in the crash on Route 611 in Mount Pocono in June of 2014.

Randler, Strausser, and her two sons were all in the same car leaving the Pocono Mountain East High School graduation ceremony in Mount Pocono.

Police said Randler was speeding when his Camaro crashed.

It was an emotional day for family and friends of Strausser who asked the judge to give Randler the maximum sentence.

"No sentence will ever be long enough for me," said Strausser's mother Bonnie Hardenstine.  "He took my baby and I will never forgive him for that."

Police are still actively looking for Randler.
