DUNMORE -- Indiana Governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence spoke to a crowd of more than 300 supporters in Dunmore Wednesday at Kenworth of Pennsylvania , a trucking company in the Keystone Industrial Park.

"We are up in Ohio. We are up in Florida, and we are going to win the Keystone State come Election Day!" he said to cheers.

Many at the event called it a thrill.

"It's very exciting, great opportunity and big part of history,” said Michael Santos, a Kenworth employee.

"I think it's very cool and he couldn't have picked a better spot around here and it's very exciting to see him come. We're getting down to the end now and we need to really pull through for Trump,” said Michael Cantanzaro of Peckville.

For half an hour Pence spoke about security, prosperity, and integrity, addressing what he calls Hillary Clinton's mistakes and lies and hammering home why he thinks he and Donald Trump are the best choice for voters.

"We are going to cut taxes across the board for working families, small businesses, and family farms. We're going to end death taxes once and for all and we're going to lower business taxes across Pennsylvania and across America so companies like Kenworth of Pennsylvania can create jobs here in Scranton!" said Pence.

Jobs is what many say the next president needs to deliver.

"We all need jobs. We all have families we have to support and Trump is the way to go,” said Mary Holt, who traveled from Georgia for the campaign stop.

Tim Engelskirchen of North Carolina has traveled to 40 states following Trump and Pence, selling hats, flags and more.

"If you'd have told me a year ago that Trump was going to be the front-runner, I'd have told you were crazy. I'd never have thought he would get the nomination, but the people are behind him. I've been doing this since '92 and I've never seen the crowds that he brings in."

Pence promised he and Trump will be back in northeastern Pennsylvania in the coming weeks.

Pence also spoke one on one with Newswatch 16 during his visit to Dunmore.
