KINGSTON — State police say they have a fugitive in custody after a chase in Luzerne County.

Troopers said Darryl Bailey Jr., of Philadelphia was wanted by Philadelphia police for an armed robbery.

Police stopped his vehicle in Nanticoke, but when a trooper tried to take him into custody, he resisted and drove away.

Troopers followed him for about 15 miles into Kingston borough where he got out of his van and ran off.

Police caught him a short time later in a neighborhood in Kingston.

Bailey* is locked up in Luzerne County. In addition to the warrant out of Philadelphia, he’s now charged with fleeing from police and other charges.

*9/11/16 – An earlier version of this story included a photo of a man named Darryl Bailey. The man in that photo provided by the Luzerne County Prison was not the man involved in the chase. Newswatch 16 regrets any confusion.
